How it Works

For small business owners posting a job or project

SBJ WNY is for small business owners in WNY who are hiring part-time, full-time, or seasonal employees, or looking for a freelancer or independent contractor to complete a project.

Each job or project post costs $20 for 30 days, after which you can choose to renew the post for another 30 days ($20) or the post will be removed from the board. We don't auto-renew posts, but we will send a renewal reminder when your post is nearing expiration.

To post a job or project, you'll provide basic information about the work, including:

  • Job title or project name
  • Business name and description
  • Category (ex. Food & Hospitality, or Retail & Customer Service)
  • Job location, description, and requirements
  • Application instructions

There are also a few optional details you can choose to add: work schedule, pay rate, and application deadline (if applicable). All posts must comply with the Community Guidelines.

Once your job or project is posted, it will be shared with our job seeker list in our weekly digest email, and it will be shared immediately with job seekers who have a saved search alert that matches your post.

Small Business Jobs WNY does not participate in the candidate sourcing, application, or hiring process. All interested candidates will reach out to you according to the instructions in your post, so you can connect with them in the way that works best for you.

For job and project seekers looking for work

The best way to stay up to date with all the work being posted on SBJ WNY is to sign up for our weekly email digest (scroll down to the bottom of the page for the signup box). Each week, you'll receive a list of all the jobs and projects that were posted in the past 7 days, and you can unsubscribe anytime.

If you're looking for a particular type of job, create a saved search alert to be notified immediately when a job matching your criteria is posted. Search for what you're looking for, and enter your email address in the box that says “Get notified about new listings matching this search”.
