Checkout Counter Staff

Our café serves freshly prepared vegetarian snacks, bakery items, smoothies, specialty teas, and refreshing beverages.

We’re looking for someone who can greet customers warmly, handle orders accurately, and help keep the café running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient service.
• Take customer orders in person and enter them accurately into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Process cash, credit/debit card, and other accepted payments accurately.
• Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, tea selections, and available options.
• Communicate special requests and dietary preferences to the kitchen staff.
• Help package takeaway orders and ensure customers receive the correct items.
• Keep the checkout counter, menu display, and customer service area clean and organized.
• Restock packaged teas, bakery items, napkins, cups, and other front-counter supplies.
• Assist with serving beverages and food when needed.
• Support opening and closing duties, including balancing the cash drawer when assigned.

Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, retail, café, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Friendly personality and strong communication skills.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail when handling payments.
• Comfortable learning and using a POS system.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm during busy periods.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Willingness to assist with general café duties as needed.
• Interest in food, tea, and creating a positive customer experience is a plus.
